When I first decided to put money into the league I decided a good logo was my first step to take. I enlisted the use of fiverr for my graphic design work. It cost me, quite literally, 7 dollars. During the design phase the creator sent me previews of the final design and it included the above logo. My jaw hit the floor and I giggled like a child. As it turns out, the designer was from India and the idea of "Fantasy football" could only mean one thing...Fantasy World Football, rather than American football. While the logo was eventually redesigned to utilize an American football, I couldn't let such an incredible miscommunication go to waste.
SEWIFFL was founded in 2015 and has since established itself as the premier keeper league that is largely based in southeast Wisconsin but also branches out into Pennsylvania and Minnesota.
The league has always been a keeper style league, requiring at least 1 keeper, with a maximum of 2 keepers. The limit is 3 keep years, which matches the NFL rookie contract structure of 4 total years with a player from the draft. SEWIFFL is a .5 PPR league, which tends to give the best balance of rewarding pass catchers without making them overpowered.
While this is far from a highly competitive league, its also not a casual league. In general team owners are well versed in football and fantasy football. SEWIFFL has always had a bonus structure that rewards small bonuses to the winners of a weekly stat challenge.
When this league was formed in 2015 the idea behind it was to be a league that was started with a bunch of 20 and 30 somethings with a goal to be a lifelong league. An ideal league will last until we're all old men watching Aaron Rodgers the 3rd take on Dave Robinson, Bijan Robinson's grandson in the week 14 matchup between Mexico City and London. So far we're doing a great job and I look forward to the next few dozen years of SEWIFFL I hope you're all having a blast playing in this league and continue to do so.
This website is just one more step I wanted to take to make this league a special, memorable, one. I plan on adding in a Championship History in the near future. If there's anything you'd like to see added I'm open to suggestions.
Owl Forever,
Dan, SEWIFFL Commissioner
