2026 Season Preview
Welcome to the 2026 SEWIFFL Season Preview! This will be a 6 part series leading up to next week's Wednesday night season opener. We're going to preview each team's roster and throw out some terrible breakdown and predictions for the 2026 season.

Like any good host, we take care of our newest guest first. Mike, obviously, comes into this season with a 0-0 record however he brings championship experience from his Short Bus All Stars dynasty league. Mike won the championship in 2024 and hasn't let anyone forget it.
There's no SEWIFFL history to look back on, so we have no choice but to look forward. Mike's team brings some real firepower at the skill positions. Malik Nabers was kept for a 4th round pick, all signs point to him being healthy enough to play week 1. It was a calculated risk to keep Nabers, but we all saw the upside his rookie year. Ending the season as WR #1 is not at all out of the question. Tetarioa McMillan takes the other top WR position and he's coming off a dominant rookie season in which he had 1000 yards and 7 TDs and ran away with the AP Rookie of the Year award.
In the fantasy backfield there might be some lightly drawn question marks, but the players they're attached do should be bellcows as long as they stay healthy. Saquon Barkley's down year is RB14 and he still runs for 1000 yards in that down year. There may be a scheme adjustment for the former Penn State man, as Nick Sirianni has brought on Sean Mannion to call plays for the Eagles. Jeremiyah Love avoided the dreaded high ankle sprain when he went down in the preseason. He's still listed on the injury report. Once he's healthy, logic says the rookie will get tons of touches on a bad Cardinals team.
Justin Herbert has remained pretty consistently good his entire career for fantasy football. Last season's QB 10 has a chance to be a part of a bounce back season for Ladd McConkey. Ladd was just OK last season, and it wasn't for lack of targets from Herbert.
Rounding out the non-Flex starters is the tried and true Travis Kelce. Despite not being a favorite to many outside of Kansas City, he's a sure fire 1st ballot Hall of Famer. The Chiefs look to bring more balance to the offense bringing in Super Bowl MVP Ken Walker. Between K9 and an un-jailed Rashee Rice there's a good chance Kelce is allowed more room to find soft spots in opposing defenses.
Mike's squad has some sneaky depth too. Marshawn Lloyd was promoted to starting RB due to Josh Jacob's domestic police case, Kyle Monangai will get plenty of looks in Chicago, Michael Wilson just signed a huge contract extension with the Cardinals, which would tell you the team believes in his talent, and to top it all off Malik Washington is the Dolphins' WR1. Being the Dolphins top WR doesn't mean much on Sundays, but it does mean targets in fantasy football.

2025 Record: 8-6
Jeff comes into 2026 chasing his 3rd SEWIFFL title. He last took home the Superb Owl in 2022, defeating Zach in the Damar Hamlin game.
It looks like The Bearded Clams will find success as the 49ers do. A triple stack of Brock Purdy - Christian McCaffrey - George Kittle will be bringing in heaps of points, hopefully, for Jeff. CMC bounced back into classic form after an injury riddled 2024 season. CMC will falter at some point, but it doesn't seem like its bound to happen this year. He had over 2000 yards from scrimmage last season, along with 17 total TDs. A season even 80% that good will be a godsend for The Clams. The other RBs on the team bring a few more question marks. Josh Jacobs might not see the field this year, and Chuba Hubbard may be the starter in Carolina, but he's got Jonathon Brooks behind him ready for his chance if Chuba slips up.
Jayden Reed looked decent when he was healthy, but the Packers WR room is crowded and the offense hasn't had a true dominant lead WR since Davante Adams left town. Davonta Smith should see his role in the Eagles offense increase as AJ Brown was traded to New England in the spring. Smith has hovered around the low end side of the WR2 group, so that increase in targets should see his standing go up as well. Emeka Egbuka's career kicked off like a dream. His first 5 weeks had fantasy football players salivating and then he fell off the face of the earth. Whether it was defense scheme, fatigue, or flash in the pan syndrome, we'll all be keeping an eye on the 2nd year man to see who the real player is.
George Kittle missed a bunch of time last year due to injury, despite that he still finished as TE 13. When he was healthy, for the most part, he dominated. The health will be the story for Kittle. If he's on the field and moving well, he'll be in the scorebook.
Those points will come by way of Brock Purdy. The former Mr Irrelevant's contract extension kicks in this season, so the 49ers will be praying to the football gods that they didn't make a mistake. The WR room is banged up currently, but if they can find their collective health, Purdy should have plenty of options. On top of all that, Jeff also has the reigning NFL MVP on his roster. Matthew Stafford is NFL old, but he is throwing the ball at an elite level still, obviously. 4700 yards passing versus 1 yard of rushing. You know what to expect out of him, but good luck stopping him.
