Welcome to the 1st write up of the 2023 SEWIFFL Season! As a quick review overall, I think this is the most talent we've kept as a league in a single season. Even the players with the lowest ADP are strong fantasy assets. I think that says a lot about how this league has grown. Good work, everyone.
Andy: Andy has a VERY strong keeper class this season. Ja'Marr Chase is the #1 pick to some in the fantasy community and Tony Pollard went over 1000 yards last year, primarily as a backup. Look for a big 1st starter year from Pollard.
Becker: Austin Ekeler is a no brainer. He's an absolute stud, workhorse that should be the spearhead of the Chargers offense. Justin Fields might be viewed as questionable, given the fanhood of many SEWIFFL owners, but Fields has legitimate QB1 overall potential and is a darkhorse MVP candidate.
Ben: Stefon Diggs is still the man in Buffalo. Possibly getting into the "up there" years for an NFL WR, Diggs still has it all and that includes a stud QB. Brandon Aiyuk might not have the stud QB but he's got every chance to go for even more than the 1K yards he had last year.
Bill: Low ADP doesn't mean no value. Buffalo clearly believes in James Cook, spending a 2nd round pick on him in 2022. He has the advantage of an high powered passing game taking focus off of him. Christian Watson was WR1 from Week 10-13 last year. If he can string together an entire season like that...look out.
Dan: Another no brainer keep of Justin Jefferson in the 12th round. Jjettas is a near-consensus #1 overall pick and should continue to excel for the Vikings. Garrett Wilson appears to have the Big Apple of Aaron Rogers eye in New York. Davante 2.0?
George: Trevor Lawrence was fantastic last season, 25-8 TD-Int, 4000 yards and those numbers should go up this year. Devonta Smith is a safe floor WR2 on the Eagles and should continue to shine with the heavy focus on AJ Brown.
James: If you're going to keep just 1, Davante Adams is a really, REALLY, good one to keep around. 'Tae is somehow undervalued despite going for 1300+ in 4 of the last 5 seasons and 1500+ in the last 2 seasons.
Jeff: Josh Allen is ridiculously good at football and has MVP potential. He'll have a safe floor each week thanks to his running ability and has some toys to throw to in Buffalo. Jaylen Waddle is going to have his ceiling potential eaten into a bit by Tyreek Hill, but he's still a great keep for what should be a very fun Miami passing game.
Randy: Saquon signed on for another year with New York and I expect they're going to try and get their money's worth, which is a good thing for Randy. Lamar Jackson hasn't found his MVP form since his MVP season, but he's still a very good quarterback with a safe floor thanks to his rushing ability.
Ryan: Patrick Mahomes is on a GOAT trajectory and will continue to perform regardless of the weapons around him. Christian Kirk should continue to find the ball from T-Law on a frequent basis. I expect him to shatter his career highs this season.
Sam: Jalen Hurts, while disrespected by Madden ratings, is another MVP contender with that safe weekly floor due to his ability to run. Chris Olave had 1000 yards as a rookie while missing 2 games and playing with subpar QBs. He'll become Derek Carr's best friend this season.
Zach: There's a not insignificant sized group of fantasy owners that believe that Cooper Kupp will be WR1 this season. The Rams are going to be bad and should be playing from behind a lot. Stafford still has a lot in the tank and should find Kupp often. Tee Higgens will feast all year against the weaker cornerbacks while all world teammate Ja'Marr Chase gets the attention.
