Week 13

Welcome to Week 13! We're coming down to the end of the season and the playoffs are starting to sort themselves out. By my UW-Oshkosh math, I can say there is one team that has secured a playoff position and that is Sam. The Sleeper default tiebreaker is, I believe, points for. Given that Ben should be safely in for a playoff position, but I'm not going to commit that as fact just yet. That said Ben would need a collapse of epic proportions to not make the playoffs. Ryan is still technically alive at 12-12, although he'd need some dominos to fall correctly in his favor to get in. I'm in a similar boat, at 13-11 and would need some help to get in. Andy(16-8), Chris(16-8), Jeff(15-9) and Randy(15-9) would be in the playoffs if they started today. Keep winning and scoring big points and you have nothing to worry about.

George(7-17), Zach(6-18), Bill(5-19) and James(3-21) unfortunately, barring any sort of SEWIFFL Doping controversy(of which we have no policy against doping, in fact its not discouraged by the much heralded Booger Sugar Pact of 1987) you guys are the first 4 in the consolation bracket and the fight for control over the 2024 SEWIFFL Draft.

Side note(and an explanation of the banner image): As someone who played center in high school I'm thrilled that Jason Kelce is getting shine even if it took his brother dating one of the most famous people in the world for it to happen. Jason is one of the GOAT centers and is an abosolute treats to watch play.

Traditional Standings

For those of you wondering how the extra game against the median has affected the 2023 standings? Well it really hasn't. Chris and Andy flip flop 3rd and 4th place, with Chris having one more traditional win this season. Check out the head to head Win-Loss standings

Bonus Standings

Let me start by admitting an oopsies that I made. I now realize I doubled up on the high QB points bonus this year, Week 9 and Week 11. My bad. We move on. (Also the chart on the left has an error, the $5 in James row should be down one, sorry!)

Last week's bonus was awarded to the team who was the winner with the largest margin of victory...and that was me :). I'll spend the money wisely.

This week's(now adjusted) bonus will be rewarded to the team with the most rushing yards for a single player.

A SEWIFFL Special Announcement

Given that we are a mere 13 days away from the end of the regular season I'd like to announce additional aggressive usage of ChatGPT for graphic design work. If you check out the Championship History page, each of the championship matchups have had their very own Superb Owl Game logo created by my unpaid robot assistant. As you've certainly seen if you opened up this drop down you have seen the official logo for the 2023 SEWIFFL Playoffs. The logo for Superb Owl 9 has been living there for a while, please take a minute to check them out.

I'm looking forward to playoff time, even if there's a really good chance I'm not competing for the title myself. Jeff, my apologies that I haven't gotten the trophy to you this season. Let's look at it as me keeping you in your wife's good graces like 1% more this fall. On that same note, we'll still be having a traveling trophy for this league, however I'm going to put the onus on the league winner to set up a time/date with me to hand off the trophy, otherwise the trophy will live here at SEWIFFL HQ. If the new champion and previous champion want to set up a custody exchange between themselves that's fine by me, I'll just have to get the new winner their nameplate to affix to the Owl.
