Welcome to Week 4! Almost a month of football has come and gone and its been a blast. Everyone is still very much alive, even the teams that had a rough start.
I'm going to start with the bonus from last week. Generally these combined stats take a bit of work on my end, scouring and confirming stats, checking FLEX spots etc. This week was very easy. Randy started Raheem Mostert and he alone was enough to win the bonus with his ridiculous 41.7 point performance in Miami's 70-20 blowout of the Denver Broncos. For what its worth Randy had another 14.8 from Isiah Pacheco, which was more than enough to secure the bonus. Congrats Randy!
On to the week 3 highlights!
Ryan handed Andy his first loss of the year, 160.08-120.3. The Buffalo Bills defense led the way for Ryan, including this pick six in the fourth quarter. The Mahomes-Swift Kelce stack was icing on the cake for Ryan. Andy had a solid week in his own right, stealing a win against the median led by Justin Herbert's incredibly efficient 40/47 for 405 and 3TDs.
Sam is somewhat quietly having a fantastic first 3 weeks, at 5-1. He bested Jeff this week 128.64-114.32. Keenan Allen seems to just get better. He had 18 catches for 215 yards and oh yeah decided to throw a 49 yard TD pass as well. Jeff kept his faith in D'Andre Swift and was rewarded with a solid 14.3 points however his faith in Darnell Mooney bit him in the butt. A goose egg from Mooney didn't do Jeff any favors. The Bears are seemingly approaching radioactive territory as far as fantasy football goes.
Randy led the league in scoring last week but probably didn't need to use all of them as Zach's players let him down to the tune of 162.88-90.36. Mostert led the way for the 'Phins and Pack Attack as Miami danced to a monstrous victory. Miami is unironically a Super Bowl contender and should be producing fantasy champions as well. On the contrary, the Bengals are letting fantasy owners down all over the world, including our very own Zach, who got yet another dud from Tee Higgins who had just 2 catches for 21 yards.
Ben continued his solid season taking out Bill 138.1-93.28. Kenneth Walker averaged nearly 7.5 yards per touch on Sunday. Tack on 2 TDs and you're looking at a near 30 burger. There was concern for Walker's job security when the Seahawks spent 2nd round pick on Zach Charbonnet, but he's seemingly cornered the RB market in Seattle these days. Bill's aggressiveness on the waiver wire didn't pay off...this week, still lots of time for that to turn around. Danny Dimes and Puka Nacua both chose this week to have their lowest scoring weeks of the year.
Chris took home another narrow victory this week, winning 119.46-111.56 over Dan. Christian McCaffrey had his standard 20+ point output. Jerome Ford, at least as of now, seems to be worth every bit of the $75 FAAB Chris spent on him. (Side note, that double move is disgusting!) On the losing side, Justin Jefferson did Justin Jefferson things, whereas Breece Hall seems just as lost as the rest of his Jets teammates since play 4 of the season.
Jim got into the win column with a 60 point victory over George, 137.56-77.16. Jim is another beneficiary of the Dolphins high powered offense. Tua Tagovailoa looks like a legitimate MVP contender at this point. Devante Adams showed no ill effects from his recent injury as he put up 35.7 points but expressed his frustrations to media after the game. George's chances in this one went the way of Derrick Henry. The Browns defense is legit as they held the bruising back to just 20 yards on 11 carries.
I believe that covers all of last week's matchups. Best of luck to everyone this week!
Week 4 Bonus: Unsung Heroes! Most combined points between 1 TE and 1 K.
Commissioner note: I'm still monitoring Extra game against the median vs standard W/L. For what its worth the standings(Points for as a tiebreaker notwithstanding) are the same for both record formats after 3 weeks. Continue to place those FAAB bids, remember that its one FAAB budget for the year, $0 dollar bids are allowed and FAAB can be traded. And a schedule reminder: This week begins the London games. 8:30 AM Sunday the Falcons and the Jags kick off from Wembly Stadium. Get those alarms set and lineups in early!
